Ако Арда напусне Атлетико, според мен няма никакъв шанс да е в посока Арсенал - по-скоро за Барселона подочух спекулации, които ми се виждат малко по-вероятни, макар и по-скоро съмнителни. А и съм твърдо против да заменяме Санти за него.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger failed in an attempt to sign Thibaut Courtois two seasons ago, according to the Daily Star.
The Belgian was the subject of interest from the Gunners’ when he was on loan at Atletico Madrid, the newspaper reports.
Wenger made an approach to secure the towering goalkeeper’s services on a loan deal himself but the move was blocked Chelsea, who were still his parent club back then, the Star report.

Arsenal 'make contact with Barcelona over Pedro'

The striker played a peripheral role at the Nou Camp last season and is reportedly considering his future with Euro 2016 around the corner

Arsenal have made contact with Barcelona over the availability of Spanish forward Pedro, according to reports in Spain.

The 27-year-old only signed a contract extension in June, but is reportedly concerned about his lack of playing time at the Camp Nou with the European Championships just around the corner.

Pedro is hoping to be in the Spain squad when the tournament gets underway in France next summer as La Roja look to win an unprecedented third consecutive title.

The attacker's first-team opportunities were limited last season due to the success of Barca's attacking trio of Luis Suarez, Neymar and Lionel Messi.

With that situation unlikely to change, Pedro is understood to be considering a move away - with the Premier League his preferred destination.

Liverpool and Manchester City have also been linked with Pedro, but Arsenal are understood to be ahead of those two teams in the race to sign him.

According to Sport, the Gunners have been in contact to sound Pedro out over a possible move.

There’s been plenty of reaction to the shock news that Robin van Persie has agreed to move to Fenerbache, as reported by the Guardian today.

Even if the Dutchman’s future at Old Trafford looked uncertain this summer, a move to Turkey didn’t appear likely, especially with Serie A sides Lazio and Juventus reported to be interested in him.

With all respect to the Super Lig, moving to Fenerbahce is a dramatic step down for Van Persie, who just three years ago was still regarded as one of the best strikers in the world, and probably the best in the Premier League.

Still just 31, the decision to move away from the absolute elite is a surprise, and one that Arsenal fans are rejoicing in, with Piers Morgan unsurprisingly getting a dig in on the Dutchman.

Gooners still haven’t forgotten – and probably never will – the way in which Van Persie left them for Manchester United, and watched with bitter sadness as RVP won the league with the Mancunians in his first season (2012/13).

They now feel like they got the last laugh though, and with Wenger building a side looking capable of winning the Premier League, they’re happy to recall that Van Persie left the Emirates in search of trophies, and won just one title at United.

As for United fans, there appears to be little dismay at the move, with most feeling the Dutchman is no longer up to leading their attack after accumulating so many injuries.

CHAMPION SANCHEZ…BUT
Yesterday was a great day for me. Watching the final of the Copa America, I felt like I was watching the final of the FA cup; I so wanted Alexis to win and succeed that I became anxious.



So you can imagine how happy I was when Chile won. It was not just happiness that filled my mind but it was also admiration for the enigma of a player: ALEXIS SANCHEZ.



The Chilean has played a mind blowing 76 starts in the last 15 months. Even a duracell battery would not last that long, but he keeps on going, almost like a robot. His ethusiasm is just breath taking. His desire is born out of sheer love for the game. Such players are very rare to find.



Despite his heavy schedule, he had the maturity to handle the expectation of millions of his people when he stepped forward to take the deciding penalty and my god, how he dispatched it: a PANEKA.



The Paneka penalty is either taken under less tensed environments or by really experienced heads like legendary Andre Pirlo. Alexis has both. The courage, maturity and professionalism to pull that kind of penalty stunt under such conditions is just sexy. Even the legendary Paneka would be scared of doing that. We have a gem at the Emirates.

Alexis has had a succesful year, got a big move to a big club, did very well, won the player of the season, the PFA fans award, the FA cup, the Community Shield and now the Copa America. What a way to go on Holiday!



That brings us to the big question, HOW DOES ALEXIS PREPARE FOR THE NEXT SEASON. While many players are preparing to return from holidays, Alexis is preparing to go for his. He has had a breathless season and has been promised a four weeks break. That means he would miss the entire pre season and the first few games of the season. That makes you wish he would have a great season.

No matter how we praise Alexis for being a workaholic and so on. The effect of such a break-less season would surely show and I have one big advice to Wenger:

Please, don’t rush Alexis even if things don’t go well at the start. His body needs to recover adequately so that we can have him at 100% for top condition.

His absence would also have a positive outlook and would have other players of the team to stake a claim.

Congrats to ALEXIS ‘DURACELL’ SANCHEZ.


Let’s hope that Joel Campbell can lead Costa Rica to an historical Gold Cup too.
