Wenger puts shock German move top of Arsenal list
Arsenal are reportedly interested in luring Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng to London
German media outlets claim the former Manchester City man, who is capable of playing anywhere in defence but is primarily used in the centre, has moved to the top of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger’s wishlist.
Wenger will see the player in close quarters next month when his side face the European Cup holders in the Champions League knock-out stages. (SportsDirectNews)
His versatility would be a fantastic addition to the squad, but he will surely not leave Bayern
И един слух за Ромелу Лукаку. И той се е контузил обаче снощи.
Arsenal Make Outrageous Bid for Romelu Lukaku, as Wenger is buoyed by Mata sale – Report
According to reports, Arsene Wenger is reportedly prepared to make an outrageous bid for Chelsea loanee Romelu Lukaku, currently at Everton.
Buoyed by Chelsea’s recent willingness to let their big-name players leave, Arsenal have arranged an audacious bid for a player that has been well-rated by seemingly everyone except Chelsea.
Lukaku’s Stamford Bridge career has been mired by injuries and various loans, and he is yet to score a competitive goal for the Blues.
This summer, Jose Mourinho used him extensively in pre-season, only for the player to receive minimal playing time at the start of the year.
This helped to spur on a loan move to Everton, where Lukaku has been performing well. In total in the Premier League, the player has scored 26 goals in 53 appearances.
However, he has, on occasion, shown his frustration with his lack of game time at Chelsea, and other clubs around the Premier League are beginning to sniff an opportunity for a transfer.
In particular, Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of Lukaku, and has reportedly authorized a £23m bid for the Belgian striker.
Lukaku would represent an archetypal Wenger-player, a talented youngster who is likely worth a tidy investment.
Arsenal are also desperate for cover in that area of the pitch, and Lukaku would make for a good contribution to the side.
It remains to be seen whether or not Arsenal will make their move this January, however, as Lukaku picked up an ankle injury in the Merseyside derby last night.
