Arsenal ponder final €57m bid for Luis Suarez
According to highly reliable journalist Telegraph when it comes to Arsenal matters, Jeremy Wilson is reporting Arsenal are packaging a new bid said to be worth 49 million pounds that they hope it will be good enough to convince Liverpool to sell the highly troublesome Uruguayan striker.
Just two days ago it was reported in the Uruguayan media that Suarez has decided he wants to stay at Liverpool although hours later he denied the said reports claiming he still wants out Anfield for a champions league club ( Arsenal ).
Suarez had gone public with his desires to leave Liverpool which has not gone well with Liverpool’s manager who in turn banned Suarez from training with the club’s first team and told the striker to make an apology to both the club and his team mates if he wants to be integrated back into the team which was outrightly rejected by Suarez according to sources close to the Uruguayan.
Although Liverpool owner John Henry had told Arsenal officials the Uruguayan will not be sold Arsenal officials are of the believe that they can convince Liverpool to sell the want away striker with a bid closer to the 50 million Liverpool reportedly want for the striker.
Arsenal re-open Sagna talks and target Uchida
Arsene Wenger makes an effort to reinforce his defence, with the Schalke right-back seen as a long-term successor to the Frenchman in competition with Carl Jenkinson
Arsenal have made a fresh attempt to reinforce their defence by reopening contract talks with Bacary Sagna and making a move for Schalke right-back Atsuto Uchida, Goal can reveal.
It is understood that Sagna's representatives recommenced talks on a new deal with the club earlier in August but the two parties did not reach an agreement and it is still anticipated that he will leave when his contract expires next summer.
"Schalke are extremely understaffed at right-back. They wanted Sascha Riether before Fulham secured him so it is hard to find a reason why they would let Uchida leave.
"More than that, I cannot imagine why Wenger would want to sign Uchida. He would not make Arsenal better - he is not even as good as Schalke expected him to be. They gave him a new contract until 2015 last year only because they could not find a replacement. Arsenal would have to offer at least €4-5 million (£3.4-4.3m)."
Arsene Wenger has now targeted Japanese defender Uchida to provide defensive cover this season and be groomed as a long-term replacement for Sagna. The Gunners have made recent contact with Schalke to enquire about signing the 25-year-old in the final weeks of the summer window.
Wenger wants a right-back who can fit in with the Gunners' playing style and be groomed to challenge Carl Jenkinson for the first-team slot if Sagna leaves.
Negotiations between Sagna and Arsenal collapsed at the end of last year after the Gunners refused to meet the player's demands for a two-year extension and an upgrade on his £60,000-a-week salary. He has
The France international has filled in as a makeshift centre-back during pre-season in the absence of club captain Thomas Vermaelen, who is out until October with a back injury.
Arsenal have made moves to sign a fourth senior central defender this summer to challenge Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and Vermaelen but have been unable to agree deals for principal targets Ashley Williams and Matthias Ginter.
Wenger has now shifted his focus to Uchida, who has two years remaining on his Schalke contract and could be available for around £5 million. The Japan international spoke earlier this year of his ambition to play in the Premier League.
Wenger also retains an interest in Sochaux right-back Sebastien Corchia, who is highly regarded in his native France.
The Arsenal boss had been ready to sell Sagna this summer following a breakdown in his relationship with the club in the final months of last season and question marks about his attitude. However, Paris Saint-Germain failed to follow up their interest in the France international with a concerted move and he is understood to have knuckled down well in pre-season.
Work permit prevents Arsenal from signing Sebastian Perez, says Atletico Nacional director
The 20-year-old midfielder spent time on trial at the Premier League club during the close-season and turned out for Arsene Wenger's side a 3-1 friendly win over Manchester City on Saturday but Victor Marulanda has confirmed that the Colombia Under-20s internationalhas been refused a work permit and will therefore not be moving to the Emirates Stadium.
When asked about Perez's move to north London, Marulanda told winsports.co: "That wasn't possible and the player will keep working with us.
"The possibility of joining Arsenal has been ruled out."
Nevertheless, Perez could still depart the Estadio Atanasio Girardot Medellin, with Marulanda revealing that the midfielder is of interest to two other sides.
"There are two clubs interested in him, it's true," the Nacional boss added. "If there is any other concrete possibility, he will leave."
Malaga Offer Arsenal Experienced Right-Back in Part Exchange for Nicklas Bendtner
Liga outfit Malaga are prepared to offer defender Jesus Gamez as part of any deal to sign misfiring Arsenal front man Nicklas Bendtner this summer, according to reports in the Daily Mail.
The Spanish high flyers have been keeping close tabs on the unsettled Denmark international all summer long, although so far the two parties have been unable to reach an agreement over the sale of the striker, who has also been attracting interest from both Premier League new boys Hull City and Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.
However, with both those transfers having seemingly broken down due to the 25-year-old’s excessive wage demands, it now appears as though the only move left on the table for Bendtner before the summer window closes for business on Sept 2 is to Southern Spain.
And in order to facilitate the transfer, Malaga are understood to be set to offer the north London club their 28-year-old full back as part of any deal for the lanky Dane, with Arsenal currently on the look-out for a new right back at the Emirates next season to provide cove for first-choice Bacary Sagna in the capital.
Gamez has been at Malaga throughout his whole career to date, scoring one goal in his 238 Liga outings for the Spaniards in an eight-year stay at La Rosaleda.
Arsenal Watching PSV Starlet Zakaria Bakkali
Reports are out claiming that PSV Eindhoven winger Zakaria Bakkali is being linked with Arsenal.
It is said that Gunners scouts have been watching the Belgium U21 international in the opening weeks of the new season.
Asked about Arsenal’s interest, PSV chief Marcel Brands insisted: “There is nothing known to me. There has been one report. This crazy thing always comes after players play two good games.
“There’s been nothing from any interested club.”
Bakkalai famously turned down a move to Manchester City to sign pro terms with PSV two years ago.
Good News : Arsenal Told They Can Now Sign £26 Million Rated Italian
Arsenal have been alerted by the news that Roma are willing to sell Erik Lamela. The Argentinian scored 15 times for Roma last season and after serious speculation regarding his future, Roma have reluctantly started to negotiate.
It is believed the Serie A club are looking for a fee of at least £26 million, a fee that Arsenal can easily afford following their non-existent dealings in the transfer window so far. The Gunners face heavy competition from North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
Andre Villas-Boas has identified Lamela as the ideal replacement should Gareth Bale complete a world record £100 million move to Real Madrid but sources close to Spurs suggest the club are readying a move regardless of whether Bale stays or goes.
The 21-year old is able to play on either wing or through the middle and has been likened the Bale, except for his physique. Arsene Wenger is a fan of versatile players and the Gunners frustrated summer has made the Frenchman even more determined to land his next targets and he won’t lose Lamela without a fight.
However, they will have to act fast at Tottenham are believed to have made their interest concrete by submitting a big money offer and the player has begun negotiations with the club.
Arsenal are in a better financial position, providing Bale isn’t sold, with a suspected £70 million plus sponsorship deals to spend and Wenger is yet to spend a penny with Yaya Sanogo the club’s only arrival on a free transfer. The Gunners lure of Champions League football should put them a step ahead of Tottenham too, but they must first match Tottenham’s offer for Lamela.
