Dynamo return
The 32-year-old was told he could leave Chelsea on Friday and has moved swiftly to secure a return to his homeland, agreeing a two-year contract with Dynamo who will present their new signing at a press conference at the Valeriy Lobanovskiy Stadium on Sunday. The six-time Ukrainian player of the year enjoyed a sparking first spell at Dynamo where his 60 goals in 116 league games prompted his move to Milan in 1999. More success followed at the San Siro where, following a loan spell last year, he finished with 127 goals in 226 Serie A appearances. Shevchenko won the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Super Cup while with Milan in 2003 before adding the Serie A title the following year.
Champions League challenge
Shevchenko, who has scored a national record 41 goals in 87 appearances for Ukraine, joined Chelsea in a €36m deal from Milan in 2006, but was unable to recapture the form he showed for the Rossoneri at Stamford Bridge and returned to the San Siro on loan last season. Shevchenko will return to Milan on 20 October to play FC Internazionale Milano after Dynamo were drawn in Group F of the UEFA Champions League alongside the Italian champions, holders FC Barcelona and Russian champions FC Rubin Kazan
