Hoffenheim match planned as part of Austria training camp
Roberto Martinez will be taking his Latics team to the Austrian Alps again this season, as part of the big build up to the 2012-13 Barclays Premier League season on August 19.
Alongside an intense week of training at a mountain hideaway, Latics are scheduled to play three training matches, including one against German side 1899 Hoffenheim on July 28, the side whose remarkable climb to the Bundesliga echoes Latics' own rise up the divisions.
They are also due to play Bulgarian Premier League side Botev Plovdiv (July 26) and a local Austrian team, on July 24.
The games will be played in the Obersosterreich region of Austria, in the Linz district. All games and venues are subject to late change.
Martinez said: "Pre-season is designed to gradually build up in intensity as we build fitness and our previous trips to Austria have always been a major success in achieving this. We are all looking forward to going back there."
No other first team pre-season matches have so far been confirmed but the club will take a team selected from the Development Squad to AFC Fylde (July 20), Southport (July 28), Bury (July 31), and Stockport (August 3).
