Following the reports in the English media this morning that Mesut Ozil wants £200,000 a week to move to the Premier League, Spanish daily AS claims that Manchester United will today make an offer of €50million (£43.1m) for the Real Madrid playmaker. Arsenal have also been linked with a bid for Ozil, who could be a casualty of Real's pursuit of Tottenham forward Gareth Bale.

United’s seeming inactivity has frustrated fans, but United haven’t been inactive.

When Cesc Fabregas said he hadn’t spoken to anyone, he was being disingenuous.

Who did he think United were negotiating with? A random tramp?

Felliani and Baines? Yes, we’ve all know that one.

United want both and have done all summer, though were late to bid. Everton don’t want to sell.

Ozil? United were offered his mandate on Friday, August 16 by Ozil’s father, who, sadly, isn’t called Ozzie.

United know he’s class, but declined it.

Ozil wants to leave Madrid as his chances looked limited, especially if Gareth Bale arrives.

If? Wasn’t that a done deal?

Didn’t Madrid build a stage last Friday to show Bale off in an overblown festival of self-congratulation which smacked of ‘We’re Madrid, we’re the greatest club in the galaxy, we buy the best players (though our credit lines aren’t quite what they were) and we’re so big that we haven’t played in a European Cup final for over a decade’.

Bale wants to go to Madrid and Madrid want him, but the impasse is because the world’s self-styled greatest club want to drive the price down and the world’s most stubborn (ie skilled) selling club want to drive it up.

Tottenham are masters at the hard-sell. They’re big enough not to be bullied, well-practised enough to know all the dirty tricks that buying clubs use to unsettle a player.

And Tottenham can play dirty, too. Like last week when they approached Manchester United and wanted to talk Bale.

They knew word would seep back to Madrid and it did.

They knew that United have money (and don’t need to resort to instalments), knew too that United had great players who might be allowed to go as part of a deal with Bale.

But Spurs wanted £60m AND a striker whom Manchester United have no intention of selling.

And no, it’s not Wayne Rooney.

DONE DEAL: Man United £24m bid for Midfielder Accepted
A summer of speculation could finally be coming to an end with Everton reportedly accepting an offer of £24million from Manchester United for Marouane Fellaini, according to theLiverpool Echo.

New United manager David Moyes has been targeting Fellaini as well as left-back Leighton Baines ever since leaving his post as Everton boss at the end of last season.

So far Moyes had failed with bids for the pair, with Everton even releasing a statement slamming the offers as “derisory and insulting”, as they were deemed to fall way below their valuation of the players.

However, the Toffees now seem to have accepted an initial offer of £20million rising to £24million, which will see the 25-year-old become Moyes’ first major signing since moving to Old Trafford.

Фелаини отива в Манчестър Юнайтед

Евертън е приел офертата на Манчестър Юнайтед за Маруан Фелаини, пише Ливърпул Ехо. Английският шампион ще плати около 24 милиона паунда за подписа белгийския национал, който отново ще работи под ръководството на мениджъра Дейвид Мойс.

Шотландецът желаеше да привлече полузащитника още преди няколко месеца, но преговорите около трансферната цена на Фелаини забавиха сделката.
25-годишният Маруан Фелаини ще бъде първото голямо ново попълнение, привлечено от Мойс на "Олд Трафорд".
