Dear Sirs,
We are group of supporters of the oldest Bulgarian football club - Botev Plovdiv. Currently, the club is in desperate situation, mainly due to the management of the chairman of the club - Dimitar Hristolov - the Peasant.
Botev Plovdiv Football Club was founded on March 12, 1912 by students from the Catholic College and the First Male High school in Plovdiv. They chose to name it "Botev" in honour of the Bulgarian national hero Hristo Botyov.
The club has changed its name several times: Botev, DNV (1947-51), DNA (1952-57), SKNA, Botev (1957-1968) and Trakia (1968-1989). The current name is PFC Botev Plovdiv. The club is one of the best known clubs in Bulgaria. BPFC has won 2 League titles and 2 National cups. Internationally the club has reached one Cup Winners' Cup quarter-finals and one Balkans Cup winners.
Many great Bulgarian football players had played in it. The most capped players of the team in A PFG are Dinko Dermendzhiev (447), Viden Apostolov (429), Petar Zehtinski (351), Kostadin Kostadinov (349), Dimitar Mladenov (347). Most goals scored for the team in A PFG: Dinko Dermendzhiev (194), Kostadin Kostadinov (106), Atanas Pashev (100), Antim Pehlivanov (89), Georgi Popov (83).

For 10 years Dimitar Hristolov turned the club from prize-winner to bottom-leveled small team. PFC Botev was never relegated to Second Division before his management, but for the last 10 years the club was relegated twice. Dimitar Hristolov didn’t make a single payed transfer into the club, but sold all the players, or even fired them, including once the whole team. As replacement for the best players, Dimitar Hristolov always hired players from law level divisions, or free agents.
Dimitar Hristolov was official representative of Diadora for Bulgaria, and he always claims, that he has business contacts on the Apennines. Although there were numerous offers to sell the club, Dimitar Hristolov refused them all. Supporters in Plovdiv are convinced that Dimitar Hristolov has some connections with illegal groups. Every time he got back from Italy he has the money to pay the players, although his business here, in Bulgaria, is in extremely poor condition.
With this letter we are seeking help to gain information about the person Dimitar Hristolov, how and from whom he got his money.
We will appreciate any information about that person, and we will be glad if you give us your support for the cause to dismiss Dimitar Hristolov as chairman of the club.
