Manchester United have taken the top-level decision that Wayne Rooney will not be sold to Chelsea no matter how much money is offered or whatever the potential risks of keeping an unhappy player. Their stance is irreversible and will represent a significant setback for José Mourinho, who had been under the impression a deal to take him to Stamford Bridge was only a matter of time.

West Ham plan new transfer move for Chelsea's Demba Ba once they trim wage-bill

West Ham are set to make a renewed move to bring Demba Ba 'home' - but need to offload players in order to afford the Chelsea striker.

We exclusively revealed West Ham’s original bid to take Ba back to Upton Park, where he played in their 2010-11 relegation season, in June.

They switched their attentions to the Senegal international after failing with an attempt to take his Chelsea team-mate Romelu Lukaku on loan.

Ba scored seven goals in 12 games for West Ham, his first club in English football, before moving on to Newcastle and then, last January, to the Blues.

New Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, however, is keen to buy Wayne Rooney from Manchester United.

And Ba already has Fernando Torres and Lukaku ahead of him, regardless of what happens with Rooney.

Chelsea to go head to head with PSG for Real Madrid star Sami Khedira

CHELSEA is preparing to battle with Paris Saint-Germain in the hopes of securing Real Madrid star Sami Khedira.

Radio Monte Carlo claims the two big spending clubs are going to go head-to-head for the 26-year-old, who was linked to a move to the Premier League earlier this summer.

The La Liga giants are expected to be reluctant to do business with Mourinho, having left the club on questionable terms.

But Mourinho is said to be keen on several Madrid midfielders Sami Khedira and goalkeeper Diego Lopez.

Despite falling out with a number of Madrid's big names he remains on good terms with the duo he was hoping to target.

The former Porto man recently revealed his desire to strengthen the Chelsea squad before the transfer window closes in September.

"Big clubs will always be connected with big players, but there are always rumours," he said.

"Until 31 August we will see if someone can improve the squad but my focus is to improve these guys."

"We want to be there [at the top of the table] and will be fighting [for the title]."

Sky Bet have also slashed their odds on a bid materialising, making Chelsea 4/6 favourites to sign Khedira.
