ARSENAL TARGET GARETH BARRY

GARETH BARRY has opened talks with Arsenal over a possible £4m move to the Emirates.

The England midfielder, who is in the final 12 months of his £100,000-aweek deal at Manchester City, fears he won't be part of new boss Manuel Pellegrini's plans.

And Starsport understands the Gunners are in pole position to sign Barry.

City have offered the 32-year-old a contract extension on reduced terms, but he is worried he will become a bit-part member of Pellegrini's side - and that will ruin his chances of being involved in next summer's World Cup with England.

The Gunners, Tottenham and West Ham all keen on landing the former Aston Villa star.

But Arsenal are favourites to sign Barry with boss Arsene Wenger telling him he would be an integral part of his team.

Arsenal are willing to offer Barry a 12-month deal worth around £75,000 a week, with the option of a second year if he is a success.

Barry will spend the next week considering his immediate future but looks certain to quit City.

The recent arrivals of Jesus Navas and Fernandinho have increased competition for places even more and Barry doesn't want to be left stuck on the sidelines.

Pellegrini took charge of his first training session at Carrington yesterday and one of his first tasks will be to resolve the future of Joleon Lescott.

The England defender wants to know if he is part of the Chilean's plans after falling down the boss Roberto Mancini.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid last night insisted they have yet to receive a formal bid from Arsenal for £22m-rated striker Gonzalo Higuain.

Real president Florentino Perez said: "Nobody from Arsenal has come here to present an offer for him."

Exclusive: Arsenal to Trigger Release Clause With £27m Bid for Fiorentina Striker Stevan Jovetic

Arsenal are ready to re-ignite their interest in Fiorentina youngster Stevan Jovetic as Arsene Wenger’s reported pursuit of Real Madrid striker Gonzalo Higuain appears to have stalled.

CaughtOffside understands that the Gunners are prepared to re-visit the idea of a move for the Montenegro having targeted the 23 year old earlier this summer, only for talks with the Serie A side to hit the buffers.

Fiorentina have just completed the signing of German international Mario Gomez and having already brought in Giuseppe Rossi from Villarreal in January there is certainly every chance that the Stadio Artemio Franchi side are readying themselves for a possible departure of their most effective striker.

Jovetic finished as the club’s top scorer in each of the last two campaigns, netting 27 times in 58 Serie A appearances though the former Partizan Belgrade man offers much more than just scoring goals.

The cultured forward would certainly fit in well with Arsene Wenger’s style of play and the Arsenal manager clearly feels that Jovetic suits his approach to the game and is now ready to make a concrete offer for the 23 year old.

Wenger is keen to bring in a fresh attacking option and has been linked with a number of top quality targets, including the aforementioned Higuain, Man United star Wayne Rooney and reportedly made a big money offer for Liverpool striker Luis Suarez. However it did appear that following the end of the 2012/13 campaign the Arsenal manager had focused all of his attention on the pursuit of Jovetic, a pursuit the French boss now hopes to finally see through.

Arsenal are ready to meet Jovetic’s reported €31m (£27m) release clause, a move that will smash the North London club’s transfer record, a task that Wenger seems desperate to achieve having been handed a massive transfer fund by the Emirates Stadium side’s board.

Wenger is looking to offload back-up attackers Nicklas Bendter, Park Chu-Young, Marouane Chamakh and Gervinho as part of a wider squad cull that has already seen the likes of Andrei Arshavin, Denilson and Sebastien Squillaci released and Vito Mannone sold to Sunderland.

Arsenal join race for Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia

On the same day that Arsenal skipper Thomas Vermaelen was possibly deemed unfit for the beginning of the upcoming Premier League season, the Express says that Arsenal have joined the race for Italy and Inter Milan defender Andrea Ranocchia. Arsenal join a long list of clubs wanting the 25-year old’s signature, with the likes of Napoli, Juventus, Manchester United and Tottenham also interested.

Ranocchia is the second centre back to be linked with a move to the Emirates, with Swansea defender Ashley Williams also reportedly a target for the Gunners. With 39 appearances last season for Inter, Ranocchia would provide competition to the likes of Per Mertesacker, Laurent Koscielny and Thomas Vermaelen for a spot as the first choice centre back for Arsene Wenger’s team.

However, Inter president Massimo Moratti is a fan of the Italian international and wants Ranocchia to continue playing for Inter next season. Inter themselves need strengthening in the centre back position, so a move anywhere for Ranocchia looks unlikely unless he tries to maneuver a move out of the San Siro.

Arsenal, however, are in desperate need of cover in the centre back position following news that skipper Thomas Vermaelen might be deemed unfit for the start of the Premier League season due to a back injury. Arsenal have already loaned Johan Djourou out and released Sebastien Squillaci, leaving them with only 3 pure centre backs in their squad. The acquisition of Ranocchia would certainly strengthen Arsenal’s backline and would leave them in good stead for the start of the Premier League season. However, a move looks unlikely to happen due to Inter’s lack of affinity to sell the 6 foot 5 inch man mountain.

Colombian Starlet Set For Arsenal Trial Ahead Of Potential Permanent Move

Atletic Nacional midfielder Sebastian Perez is to have a one-week trial with Arsenal in August ahead of a potential permanent switch to the Emirates, according to the Metro.

The 20-year-old is highly-rated in his homeland and the report claims Arsene Wenger had scouts run-the-rule over the defensive midfielder at this summers Under-20 World Cup in Turkey.

Although the Colombians made an early exit from the tournament, it appears the Arsenal scouts were suitably impressed with what they’d seen in Perez as he’s now been invited to spend a week on trial at the Emirates with a view to making the move permanent if all goes to plan.

The Metro claim that Atletico Nacional’s president Juan Carlos de la Cuesta confirmed the trial to Colombian media yesterday, while local journalist @JeraldineFranco also confirmed the news on Twitter.

Arsenal forward linked with shock Roma move
Arsenal’s estranged winger Gervinho has been handed another career lifeline. According to reports published in talkSPORT, Serie A side AS Roma are eyeing the 25 year old keenly, to fill in for their forward Pablo Osvaldo, who might be headed to Manchester City this summer.

Gervinho has seemed unsettled at the Emirates, having netted a mere 11 goals for Arsenal since his arrival from Ligue 1 side Lille, two seasons ago. Scoring just 7 of those goals in 26 appearances this season, he has been linked to various clubs this summer which include sides like Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Marseille. Recently, there were also reports of Olympique Lyon being interested in a loan deal for him, after which it was speculated that Arsenal might use him in a swap deal to bring in new players from the French side.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been found searching for high profile replacements for the Ivorian in the transfer market which indicate that the player is almost certain to be relegated to the sidelines when the season starts in mid-August. Should Gervinho opt for a move to Roma, he would feel very much at home with manager Rudi Garcia having previously worked with him during his Lille days.

Gervinho has a contract with the Gunners till June 2015. Any prospective suitor for his signature might have to shell out around €10m to sign him.

Meanwhile, Gervinho has been quoted telling a number of English papers recently that he is adamant to fight for his place in the Gunners squad and carve out a place for himself in his boss’ plans.

Аз се чудя кога ще се отърва от него, той пак при моите. [/offtopic]

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wants to bring Newcastle keeper Tim Krul to the Emirates

Reports in Holland this Thursday morning claim Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is keen to sign Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul this summer.

Wenger, according to Dutch website Ad.nl, sees Krul as a goalkeeper he can trust for many years and challenge the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Krul’s current contract at Newcastle runs out in 2017 so Arsenal would have to pay a hefty fee for the Dutch custodian.

The Newcastle number one suffered a season of injury problems last time out but was hugely impressive in 2011/2012.

Arsenal’s interest in Krul, has prompted Newcastle to move for PSV goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet who was part of the Holland squad at the recent Under-21 European Championships.

Widespread reports in Holland today, suggest Newcastle have made an offer for Zoet and also been in touch with the player and his representatives.

If Arsene Wenger was to sign Tim Krul this summer it would provide plenty of question marks over the future of Wojciech Szczęsny at Arsenal.

Arsenal and Everton hoping to snap up Belgian ace Malanda on a free transfer

Arsenal, Everton and Fulham have been given the chance to snap up a player hailed as the new Marouane Fellaini for virtually nothing after Junior Malanda emerged from hiding and claimed he was a free agent.

The 18-year old Belgium Under 21 midfielder went AWOL from his club Zulte Waregem last week, in an effort to force a move to one of his Barclays Premier League suitors.

He finally surfaced, after being incommunicado for almost a week, and immediately put Arsenal, Everton and Fulham on alert by insisting he was no longer tied to Zulte.

A Belgian labour law known as Law 78 allows players to free themselves from contracts, though there is an unwritten rule among the country’s top-flight clubs that they will not sign anyone who becomes available that way.

It is intended to dissuade players from opting out of their contractual obligations, but there is nothing to stop teams from other countries stepping in and offering them a fresh start.

Once a player who has utilised Law 78 joins another club, a Belgian tribunal fixes a compensation figure for the club he has left, though this is invariably a minimal amount.

Malanda, a powerful defensive midfielder tipped to make as big an impact on the game as fellow-countryman Fellaini, confirmed he is now on the market for next-to-nothing by saying: ‘I broke my contract with Zulte in order to pursue better options for my career in a bigger league, like the Premier League or Bundesliga. My aim is to play in England or Germany, and I hope that now happens.’

Malanda, who is training with a small team near Waregem to maintain his fitness, would have joined Fulham in January but for the Craven Cottage club failing to push through a near-£6million deal before the window shut.

They will now face competition from Arsenal, who have been linked with Fellaini, and Everton for a player who is now likely to cost less than one-tenth of his original valuation.

Arsenal & Man United Battle to Sign ‘Ukrainian Messi’ Yevhen Konoplyanka
Premier League clubs Manchester United and Arsenal are understood to be readying bids to sign Ukrainian star Yevhen Konoplyanka, reports talkSPORT.

The Dnipro playmaker is regarded as one of the most talented youngsters across Europe, and could be a bargain buy this summer for the top teams. United and Arsenal are both interested in signing the winger, as well as German duo Bayer Leverkusen and Wolfsburg.

Konoplyanka, dubbed the ‘Ukrainian Messi’ by their media outlets, has shone for Dnipro in recent seasons, and is set for a move to one of Europe’s elite clubs this summer. Available for around £13million this summer, the winger was a member of Ukraine’s European Championship side in 2012, where he was impressive, and also scored a scorcher against England in World Cup qualification.

Konoplyanka’s agent, James Lippett, of World in Motion, told talkSPORT: “Yevhen is very highly rated amongst the top teams in England and Germany. The question is simply whether these clubs can meet Dnipro’s valuation and the player’s expectations”.

United and Arsenal are both in the market this summer for attacking options. United, under David Moyes, appear to have given up hope in their pursuit of Cristiano Ronaldo, and with Nani set to be axed this summer, Konoplyanka would be an excellent addition long-term. Arsenal are too preparing for sales of some of their attacking options. With Gervinho and Lukas Podolski linked with moves elsewhere, the Dnipro attacker has been noted as a potential replacement.

Arsenal Close In On Italian Wide-Man as AC Milan Full-Back Seriously Considers Gunners Switch

Arsenal are understood to be readying a bid for AC Milan full-back Ignazio Abate, according to talkSPORT.

The Gunners are in the market for a new right-back this summer, and have identified Italian defender Ignazio Abate as a potential signing. With Bacary Sagna set to be let go either this summer or next, the North London club are in search for competition for rising young star Carl Jenkinson.

Abate, 26, has only a year left to run on his current deal at the San Siro, and Milan are believed to be reluctant to sell the Italian international defender this summer, are will reportedly offer him a new deal at the club.

Sagna, too with only 12 months left to run on his current contract at the Emirates, is open to offers elsewhere, as Arsenal are preparing for life without the player. Monaco have expressed some interest in signing Sagna from the Gunners this summer, but no official bid has been made.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is preparing a bid in the region of £6million for Abate as their initial offer. The player is seriously considering a summer switch to the Premier League, if AC Milan fail to make him an acceptable offer to stay at the club long-term.

Having failed in bids to sign highly-rated young defenders Kurt Zouma and Tin Jedvaj this summer, Arsenal are opting for experience at the back as they begin to retool their squad ahead of the new season.

Arsenal are lining up a move for Sevilla midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia

Sky Sports understands Arsenal are weighing up a move for highly-rated Sevilla midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.

A host of clubs have been linked with Kondogbia, who caught the eye at Sevilla last season with a number of impressive performances.

The likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea have been credited with an interest in the 20-year-old as they look to bolster their midfield options.

Real are believed to have cooled their interest in Kondogbia as they pursue a deal in Real Sociedad's Asier Illarramendi, who has been mentioned as a possible target.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be in the market for a new defensive midfielder and Kondogbia is understood to be on his radar.

Sevilla are battling to keep hold of their best stars this summer after failing to qualify for Europe next season and Arsenal are ready to test their resolve to retain Kondogbia.

Arsenal to reignite row with Barcelona by signing wonderkid Antonio Sanabria

Arsenal are set for a fresh row with Barcelona after launching another raid on their academy – this time for wonderkid Antonio Sanabria.

The 17-year-old is currently part of Barca’s ‘Juvenil A’ setup, where he is regarded as a top prospect but the Gunners are keen to lure him to the Emirates.

Sanabria, who is also a target for Real Madrid, caught the eye for Paraguay at the Under-20 World Cup and is ready to move away.
Ready to go into battle: Sanabria is risking another row with Barcelona (Picture: Getty)

Arsenal are confident of landing the player but will face another row with Barca, having pinched several starlets from the Nou Camp in recent years.

Jon Toral, Hector Bellerin and famously Cesc Fabregas have all moved to Arsenal against Barca’s wishes, while Julio Pleguezuelo Selva has already made the switch this summer.

Barca have written a formal letter to the FA to complain, with Premier League sides able to take advantage of Spanish contract law to sign players before they can be legally offered deals with La Liga clubs.

Sanabria would likely cost around £400,000 in compensation.

Arsenal with another ‘Non-Serious’ Bid for Reds Star

Guardian reports that Arsenal are to test Liverpool resolve with an improved bid of 35 million pounds for the Uruguayan Luis Suarez. However, in reality, this is Arsenal coming up with another ‘Non-Serious’ bid for Reds Star.

Yes, you read it right, non-serious, that is the most generous way to describe that bid. None of the supporters, may that be of Liverpool, Arsenal or neutrals believed that Gunners can actually lure one of the best players in the world for just £30 million (their first bid).

In fact, majority of the gunner fans believed that the club have gone to bid like that for Suarez just to tease Real Madrid and Higuain. Would love to hear what they have to say about the second £35 million bid. Is that for the same reason as well?

May be, just may be Arsenal are serious about signing the former Ajax talisman, however even now there is no point for the supporters to get excited as the mentioned amount will not convince Liverpool to sell their prized asset either.

Then why are Arsenal even coming up with that bid when the world knows the fact that it is going to be rejected straight away as well.

Liverpool have always claimed that they want to keep their superstar at Anfield but may have other ideas after his recent comments about the desire to leave merseyside.

No one is still sure about the asking price the Reds are looking for to sell Luis Suarez but perhaps the minimum reported is £40 million (Luis is worth more than that for sure). If Arsenal really want to bring Luis Suarez to Emirates then they should really think about coming up with a serious bid at first.

35 млн били несериозни за расиста. :)
