According to The Mirror, Arsenal will revive a deal for Maxi Romero on the condition he proves his fitness.

The report claims the Gunners agreed a £4.5 million deal to sign the Velez Sarsfield striker last summer yet it was called off when the 17-year-old suffered a knee ligament injury.

Now that the player is back to full fitness the Gunners will seemingly go for him again although much depends on how he holds up in upcoming matches in the Argentine top division.

Arsenal are intent on making a number of key signings this summer as they look to put their failed Premier League title attempt this past season behind them and quickly look ahead to the upcoming campaign.

The North London club have already been linked with Bundesliga-based duo Granit Xhaka and Medhi Benatia (Daily Star) as they seek to improve the first-team, yet Romero is more one for the future.

At 17, the striker has plenty of potential and he has been likened to some of the recent top Argentine forwards such as Manchester City's Sergio Aguero and Mauro Icardi of Inter Milan.

Romero made his debut for Velez Sarsfield reserves at just 15, and one year later he was called up to participate in first-team duties as the coaches at the club were taken aback by his progress.

Arsenal would be signing him for the club’s under-21 Premier League campaign should they bring him in.

Удивителни голчета, никой няма такива красиви изпълнения и от толкова много играчи всеки път. Едно не бива да се отрича изобщо- винаги вадехме по някой скрит коз от ръкавчето на Арсена Венгер. За мен лично голът на Алексис Санчес трябваше да е победител, ама Барса е малко по-голям дразнител от Манчо за феновете.

Лично за мен гол на сезона е този (https://youtu.be/wya9blSRSww) на Фламини срещу картофите. На второ място феноменалния гол (и като цяло завръщане) на Дани Уелбек срещу Лестър. На трето идва Елнани срещу Барца.

И двата са хубави, но въпреки това на Санчес ми се струва по-труден. Елнени пък го направи с майсторлък и завидна лекота, така че има резон да изберат него.

Born and bred in Basel, Xhaka joined the city's biggest club aged ten after spending his earlier years at Concordia. For a teenager, he was already remarkably athletic and resilient, allowing him to make his senior Basel debut in a UEFA Champions League qualifier against Debrecen, in which he also scored his first goal.

Subsequently he was often linked with a move abroad, but it was Borussia Mönchengladbach who secured his services in 2012. That was 12 months after his first appearance for Switzerland, for whom he has collected 41 caps and counting.

Playing style ...
Xhaka is a typical box-to-box player who leaves everything on the pitch. He is aggressive and has great timing in the tackle, with his physical style often intimidating opponents. That determination to win the ball can also lead to early bookings and has caused him problems in the past.


Xhaka sets EURO target for Switzerland

In addition, his passing range is outstanding and made him such a valuable player at Mönchengladbach in the attacking transition. Blessed with a fierce shot, he can also be a weapon at free-kicks.
