Arsenal set to seal shock deal to sign wonderkid

Arsenal about to make second signing of transfer window after beating Tottenham Hotspur and AS Roma to the deal. Arsenal are on the verge of signing young playmakerTodor Nedelev from Bulgarian outfit Botev Plovdiv. Italian publication Tutto Mercato claim that the Gunners have beaten AS Roma to the 20 year-old’s signature, with the offer from the north London club presumably sufficiently higher than the €3 million (approximately £2.6m) bid by the Serie A side. Nedelev is a wonderful prospect, and his form domestically and on the continent so far this season is clear evidence of his potential. In five games in the Grupa A, the Bulgarian top flight, Nedelev has scored four times and assisted once, and whilst the league in his home country does not really compare to the Barclays Premier League, his figures in the UEFA Europa League are certainly impressive. In
his six appearances, he has scored three goals and supplied a single assist, and the youngster is emerging as a real talent. Nedelev can play on either flank, as well as in attacking midfield, and has even been likened to wantaway Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale. The playmaker was even linked with a move to Spurs to replace the Welshman earlier in the transfer window. Given that Arsenal have sold Gervinho and released Andrei Arshavin this summer, and that Alex Oxlade- Chamberlain is likely to miss the next three months, Nedelev could be an invaluable signing.

ARSENAL LAUNCH STUNNING BID FOR REAL MADRID TRIO BENZEMA, DI MARIA AND OZIL

Arsenal are ready to make a sensational bid for Real Madrid trio Karim Benzema, Angel Di Maria and Mesut Ozil.

The Daily Mail says the Gunners have had encouragement from Real Madrid officials that the trio are available.

However, it is understood Madrid chiefs are unwilling to finalise deals until Gareth Bale arrives from Tottenham, which is still expected in the next few days.

The Gunners will table offers for all three players once given the green light to proceed from Real chiefs.

Of the three, Arsenal believe deals for Di Maria and Ozil will be the easier to conclude, with Benzema understood to be reluctant to leave the Bernabeu.

Arsenal in talks for Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld

Reports have emerged in Holland on Tuesday morning that Arsenal have contacted Ajax to discuss the future of Belgian defender Toby Alderweireld.

The 24-year-old has long been linked with a move away from Amsterdam this summer, most recently Atletico Madrid were believed to be in pole position.

AD.nl are just one of a number of websites to suggest Arsenal have been in touch with Ajax to enquire about Alderweireld who could well come in as a back-up to the likes of Per Mertasacker and Laurent Koscielny.

Former Arsenal winger Marc Overmars, now the Ajax director of football, stuck with the line that he has said all summer when questioned on the Gunners interest: “They would need to pay the asking price, if we were to let one of our players go.”

Atletico Madrid refused to pay the 7 million euro asking price for Alderweireld. The likes of Norwich, Everton, Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen have also been linked with the defender this summer.

If Alderweireld were to join Arsenal, he would link up with Belgian team mate Thomas Vermaelen at the Emirates.

Arsenal Completes Signing Of Frenchman On 3 Years Contract
There are reports that Arsenal has completed the signing of their second summer capture. The gunners who are yet to make any major signing aside Yaya Sanogo have decided to retake Mathieu Flamini on a free transfer for 3 years, some reports have it that the contract is for 2 years but reports reaching us is that the contract is actually for 3 years. Flamini has been training with Arsenal for the last 2 months after refusing to renew his contract with AC Milan. He had played for Arsenal for 3 years before leaving on a free transfer to join AC Milan who is now joining Arsenal from.

Arsenal have been in the market for a new defensive midfielder and have had bids rejected for Newcastle United’s Yohan Cabaye, Paul Pogba and Geoffrey Kondogbia from Sevilla. Although the signing of Flamini on a 3 years contract will not be the type of news Arsenal fans are expecting after been promised marquee signings, he is however good enough to fill the defensive midfield position which Arsenal have been short on in the last 2 seasons.

With Arteta and Diaby out with injury, Flamini is a worthy and experience defensive midfielder who can as well play as a centre back and a left back.

Arsenal considering Quagliarella bid


Arsenal have made an enquiry about potentially signing Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella, according to the London Evening Standard.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who has received repeated criticism from fans in recent weeks after failing to significantly strengthen his playing squad during the summer, is keen to add a new striker and Italian Quagliarella has emerged as a potential target.

The 30-year-old, who has won 25 caps for his native Italy, has been the subject of intense transfer speculation during the current transfer window, with Ukrainian outfit Shaktar Donetsk and Sam Allardyce's West Ham among the other clubs persistently linked with his signature.


Although already thought to be on the look out for attacking reinforcements, Wenger's search for a new striker may well intensify after German international Lukas Podolski was stretchered off during Tuesday's 2-0 win over Fenerbahce that ensured Arsenal progressed to the group stages of this year's Champions League.

It is now thought that Podolski could miss over two months due to the injury, and Wenger will be keen to ensure his side are not lacking in firepower ahead of the close of the transfer window on September 2.

Arsenal are in action again on Sunday as they face fierce rivals Tottenham in a keenly anticipated North London derby at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal wait for Bale after submitting £25.6m Di Maria bid


Arsenal are waiting to hear if a £25.6 million bid for Angel Di Maria has been accepted as Real Madrid refuse to sanction any outgoings until Gareth Bale’s signing has been confirmed.

Goal can reveal that the Gunners tabled a formal €30m (£25.6m) offer for Di Maria after securing qualification for the group stages of the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Real indicated during a week of discussions with Arsenal that they are willing to off-load the Argentine winger as they prepare to trim costs and free up space in the team for Bale.

But the bid has not yet been accepted and the Londoners will not be given the green light to hold personal talks with Di Maria until Real’s £86m world-record signing of Bale is finally secured.

Arsenal will have to persuade the 25-year-old Argentina winger to cut his ties with the Spanish giants and also see off competition for his signature from Galatasaray.

Di Maria’s public stance is that he wants to fight for his place in Carlo Ancelotti’s team although his position might change when Bale arrives.

Speaking to the Spanish press after setting up the winning goal for Karim Benzema in Monday’s 1-0 win at Granada, Di Maria said: "I understand the club are strengthening and they are precise in what they do. But I signed a contract until 2018 a year ago and my desire is to stay in the Bernabeu.”

Ultimately, Arsenal’s chances of capturing the player may depend upon Real’s desire to raise more money from sales, in which case they may encourage one of their attacking players to leave.

With Isco and Mesut Ozil both starting the new season in the team and taking up two of the three positions behind the centre-forward, Di Maria looks the odd man out for the Spaniards.

One player who is unlikely to swap the Bernabeu for Emirates Stadium is Benzema, who was also the subject of an enquiry from Arsenal last week.

As reported by Goal, Real chiefs told the Londoners they will not sell the French striker unless they first secure a replacement and, with only five days of the window remaining, the chain of transfers is seemingly too complex for Arsene Wenger to land him.

However, the move for Di Maria is now quite advanced and Wenger has also not given up hope of signing a marquee striker, with an audacious bid expected imminently for Wayne Rooney.

Chelsea have abandoned their pursuit of the Manchester United forward as they close in on the signing of Samuel Eto’o but Arsenal have privately been encouragement that the Premier League champions could be willing to sell them Rooney.

Wenger has not spend a penny on transfer fees this summer, with Yaya Sanogo and ex-Gunner Mathieu Flamini both free signings. As revealed by Goal, Flamini signed a two-year, £50,000-a-week contract after reaching an agreement with the club following a final round of talks on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Aaron Ramsey is struggling to be fit for Arsenal's marquee Premier League clash against Tottenham on Sunday.

The midfielder, who has begun the new season in outstanding form, picked up a groin injury on Tuesday night, when he scored both goals in his team's 2-0 second-leg Champions League win over Fenerbahce, and is doubtful for Spurs' visit to the Emirates.
