Руският национал Марат Измайлов от Порто може да премине в Арсенал през следващата една седмица, твърди „Спортбокс“. Според руското издание 30-годишният халф влиза в списъка на трансферните цели на „артилеристите“.

До момента Арсенал е направил само един официален трансфер през това лято – Яя Саного от Оксер. Клубът прави опити да привлече Един Джеко от Манчестър Сити, Луис Суарес от Ливърпул, Мичу от Суонзи и Йоан Гуркюф от Олимпик (Лион).

Измайлов има договор за още две години с Порто. Той премина при „драконите“ от Спортинг (Лисабон) през зимата. Очаква се португалският шампион да се раздели с руския национал срещу 4,9 милиона евро.

Arsenal move for Real Madrid's £40m Karim Benzema in search for world-class striker
Arsenal have moved for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema in an attempt to finally add the proven world-class forward that Arsène Wenger has made his priority this summer.

Wenger has tracked Benzema for many years, to little avail, but there is a feeling that a £40 million offer could now succeed as Madrid seek to balance their finances in the expectation of a likely world-record fee to recruit Gareth Bale.
Arsenal have already failed with bids this summer for Gonzalo Higuaín, who eventually joined Napoli, and Liverpool's Luis Suárez, but Wenger remains determined to add an established striker from the elite bracket of world football.
Although interest in Manchester United's Wayne Rooney is still genuine, there is an acceptance at Arsenal that it would be a difficult deal to complete in this transfer window.
Wenger has also now conceded defeat in the attempt to sign Suarez. "Absolutely no chance of that," he said. "It is true that one bid for a striker did not work. That took a long time. We have to wake up from that now. I'm confident.
"The transfer market starts for me now and a lot of activity will happen between now and Sept 2. It is like a poker game. People hold their cards as long as possible. In the end, they go for decisions."

Мениджърът на Арсенал продължава да търси варианти за подсилване на халфовата линия на тима. До момента той така и не успява да вземе подходящ играч на този пост, като сега е решил да насочи усилията си към бразилския полузащитник на Порто Фернандо. Френският наставник смята, че Арсенал има нужда от стабилен дефанзивен халф. В момента отборът му не разполага с такъв играч след напускането на Алекс Сонг в посока Барселона през миналото лято. Затова той се надява да убеди "драконите" да се разделят с този футболист, особено след провала в преговорите за Луис Густаво от Байерн, който предпочете офертата на Волфсбург.

Arsenal plot move for Real Madrid’s Angel Di Maria
Manager Arsene Wenger has been reluctant to spend so far this summer, having lost out to Italian side Napoli in their pursuit of Gonzalo Higuain, who left the Santiago Bernabeu for £30million.

Wenger has now seemingly turned his attentions to Di Maria and teammate Karim Benzema, who is also thought to be the subject of a bid from the north London side.

Di Maria’s position at los Blancos could become clearer should the club sign Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale as has been widely reported this summer.

The Argentina international has been linked with a move to White Hart Lane as part of the deal to sign Bale, but with nothing any closer just days before the close of the window, a move elsewhere could be a possibility, according to Goal.com.

Madrid value the winger at around the £15m mark, and the Gunners are willing to negotiate with the Spanish giants.

Di Maria started the opening game of the La Liga season against Real Betis on the bench at the weekend, and may be looking to get first team football elsewhere.

Wenger Set To Make Good His Promise To Arsenal Fans By Spending 100 Million

Arsene Wenger seems to be making true his words that Arsenal’s own transfer window is now just opening. The French man was quoted as saying :

“The transfer market really starts now, a lot of activity will happen between now and 2 September. We have 12 days. A lot will happen. It starts now.”

“Quality wise we do not need, but numbers wise we are short. We lost Arteta and Diaby. We are without three international midfielders. We will try and bring one in but we are working on that. What you have to understand is that there is still a long way to go.”

And to make true his words, the news broke that Arsenal are negotiating with Real Madrid on the potential signing of Benzema and Di Maria. Telegraph reported yesterday that Arsenal are very keen on the Madrid pair and have commenced negotiation and to make it even more interesting, BBC’s David Ornstein tweeted the following on twitter yesterday :

“Arsenal working on deals for Real Madrid duo Benzema & Di Maria. Also pursuing GK & defender, could spend £100m”

He also reported Arsenal have made contacts with PSG in regards to Sakho who is available on the market after declaring he will like to move away from PSG.

Arsenal Is Broke, Have As Much Money To Spend As Everybody Says – Wenger
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told the media that Ivan Gazidis is a liar and the club does not have as much money has the South African has told the fans and the media the club has. Earlier this summer, doing a question and answer session with a section of the club’s fans, the South African told the media Arsenal has much money to spend. He even went as far as saying the club can afford to purchase expensive players such as Wayne Rooney whose transfer fee is not only almost double of Arsenal’s current transfer record but as well on wages that is way beyond what the highest earner at Arsenal is getting.

A lot of newspapers have reported that Arsenal has as much as 70 million pounds to spend with daily mirror reporting Arsenal have as much as 80 million pounds to spend and some other bloggers claiming the club can afford to spend as much as 100 million on new players.

Wenger has however denied these reports saying :

“Yes, I’m confident that we’ll make the signings we need because of the desire of the players to join us,” said the Frenchman.

“There’s also the fact that while we maybe don’t have as much money as everybody writes, we have some funds available to do transfers.”

This may way be that Wenger is deliberately making it sound to other clubs as though Arsenal is skint just so to avoid paying high prices for players. However, if it is true that we do not have as much money as Wenger says, then lot of questions need to be asked and answered.

Could it be that the club’s official end of the year financial results have been doctored? Or are the funds reported in the results not meant to be spent on the team?

Could it mean funds are been siphoned by the American majority owner? So much questions that only the club can provide answers to.
